WUMC along with many other local UMC’s will be teaching and preaching on Rehab Worship during Lent. “Rehab is a word that can refer to many different things. Just a quick glance through the Wikipedia article on rehabilitation, or “rehab,” points to issues ranging from health (cognitive rehab, wildlife rehab, drug rehab, occupational rehab, physical rehab, psychiatric rehab, vision rehab, vocational rehab) to politics (restoration of disgraced politicians) to home improvement (Rehab Addict!). In general, the word rehabilitate means to restore to a condition of good health, ability to work; to restore to good condition or operation; or to restore a person’s reputation.” (UMC General Board of Disciplehip)
Let’s worship together to understand how Lent is a journey toward God’s rehabilitation in our lives- both individually and corporately.
During Lent we are focusing on the theme of “Rehab.” This is not meant to be a time to be “preachy” or holier than thou. Rather, it is a time for all of us to admit our humanness, brokenness, and need for the Savior. Please continue to open yourself up for opportunities to be held accountable, to meet your neighbor in the pew or loft, and to respond to God’s message for you and the larger church. ~ Pastor Heather
