Hello, WUMC!  I pray this finds you well in the midst of this year’s Holy Week.

Over the past several weeks, I have been engaging in conversation with the Interfaith group in our community.  The Unitarian Universalist Church (just up the road from us on Main Street), had their “Black Lives Matter” sign vandalized.  As you can imagine, it was devastating to them and to the Interfaith group.  This action would be the second or third act of hatred on a religious group within my time at Williamsville.  Our response as religious leaders was to offer a “sign” of solidarity and peace.  The literal “signs” read:  “We need not look a like, to love a like.”  This action within our comunity made the Buffalo News.

The hope is that this message with bloom like daffodils throughout WNY.  We have 18 additional yard signs to be used in local neighborhoods. If this resonates with you and you would like to share this story of community unity on your street, please stop in the office for a sign.

May God’s peace prevail,
Pastor Heather
