Hard at work, the children are making Valentine-themed crafts.
Stringing beads for Valentines.
Each wall hanging for distribution to care homes and the elderly said, "Love bears all things."
Crafts of beads and pipe cleaners make for special home made expressions of love.
Here the children took a "visit" to Sweden where they learned about St. Lucia Day (celebrated Dec.13th) and how the oldest daughter wears a crown of lighted candles and serves goodies to her family.
Families donated books which served as ornaments adorning the Christmas tree. They will be used in Christian Ed classes.
Children in grades K-4 have been learning about the early church and the seven wise and good helpers who assisted the apostles and took care of those in need. On October 25, the children arrived at church with canned goods and non-perishable items for the WUMC food pantry. What fellowship and fun they had going from station to station participating in various projects to help others, much like the Seven Helpers from long ago.
Their efforts will nourish the spirit and body of many recipients.
Thank you to all teachers, volunteers and children who attended. You made vacation Bible school a success!
Children attended camp each weekday evening this first week of August and enjoyed learning by taking a "trek" to the Promised Land and Bethlehem, the Pharisee's House, the Upper Room and even to Galilee!
Participants learned about how God is with them, guiding them in the right direction and the importance of thinking before you act. There was plenty of fun and hanging together, snacks and stories.
Camp concluded with learning the importance of making a difference by telling others what they learned at Camp E.D.G.E. Be sure and join us next summer!
