Our UMC Hymnals are now 20 years old, and many are in need of repair. If you come across a hymnal with a torn binding, please bring that hymnal to the church office, or place on the piano in the choir room. The Feringtons are working to repair damaged hymnals with special library binding tape to get us through until a new edition is printed in an estimated 5 years.
About a dozen folks showed up at church Saturday morning, March 3rd, to work on various small projects and jobs around church. We were able to pare down the “To Do” list of needed work around church. The Trusteees give many thanks to all who participated. See the White board in Narthex for postings of jobs/projects yet to be completed. Feel free to add to the list if you see something that needs to be done around church. We will have another work day for outside jobs as soon as the weather permits; the date will be published in Messenger and on White board.
Know someone who is? Asbury UMC (one of our neighboring UM Churches) will be the site for respite care for the caregivers of memory-impaired adults. This once a month program will give the caregiver a 4-hour break to do errands, attend doctor or dentist appointments, go to lunch with a friend or just relax. It will be every 2nd Tuesday of the month, 10am to 2pm, and starts March 13. Trained volunteers will provide supervised fun activities, piano music/singing, games, and a nutritious lunch – all at NO CHARGE to the participants. Please contact email@example.com or Amy Diati at 846-9392 to register.
WUMC and Gateway-Longview are partnering to provide monthly birthday parties for the children and youth who reside just up the street from us. Every second Thursday of the month from 7-8pm, we will send volunteers to Gateway-Longview. We have been asked to provide cake, cards, a spirit of joy and people to interact with these youth. Bakers, card makers, and volunteers are needed! Please contact the church office for more details. A volunteer application is required to participate on campus.
Music Notes: If you like to sing but cannot make the year long commitment to the Chancel Choir, perhaps you’d like to join us for the Lenten/Easter season. We have some wonderful anthems selected and would love to have you on board. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 – 8:30, and we have a robe in your size!

Did you ever wonder how Pastor Gregg spends his time when he’s not preaching or otherwise serving at Williamsville UMC? The Women of Williamsville, better known as WOW, can learn more about that at our next meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, in the parlor. Pastor Gregg will talk to us about Wesley’s Place, the new faith community he has established near the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. In addition to the program, we will have a business meeting, refreshments and social time. All women of the church are invited.
2017 end of year giving statements will be mailed soon. Once received, please review for accuracy against your records. Call Brenda, 634-4800, if you have any questions or concerns.
Have you missed a Sunday and would like to know what the sermon was about? The previous six sermons are available in the media rack in the Narthex. Take a copy of those sermons you missed. Pastors Heather and Gregg are starting a new series entitled “Storm Stories”. If you miss a Sunday or would like to share the sermon with others, they will be available each Monday after the sermon.
The 2018 sign-up poster is in the Narthex. If you would like to hon-or or remember a special person or event in your life, sign-up for the date that is important to you. Brenda will contact you the week prior so your remembrance can be shared in the weekly Messenger.
