The Human Relations Day is the first of the six church wide special Sunday offerings. This offering supports neighborhood ministries through Community Developers, community advocacy in the United States and Puerto Rico through United Methodist Voluntary Services, and work with at-risk youth through the Youth Offender Rehabilitation Program. Giving envelopes have been provided in your Bulletin.
“The animals of God’s creation inhabit the skies, the earth and the sea. They share in the fortunes of human existence and have a part in human life. God, who confers gifts on all living things, has often used the service of animals or made them reminders of salvation…We, therefore, invoke God’s blessing on these animals.
As we do so, let us praise the Creator and thank God for setting us as stewards over all the creatures of the earth.”—from “Occasional Services: A Service for the Blessing of Animals”.
Praise for Nancy Cimbal & Tony DelGobbo for opening their hearts and home to Albie, an 11 year old rescue dog.

Please pray for the Mission of Peace trip to Cuba. Pastor Heather and high school youth from all over the Northeastern US will be traveling on a mission of presence to dispel cultural stereotypes, learn about the role of the church, and to connect with youth around the world. Please pray for safe travel, the building of relationships with the Cuban people, health, and the presence of Jesus within all the participants.
Ever have a bad day? Know someone that has received a disheartening diagnosis? Have you suffered a loss? These and many other incidents disturb the calm in our lives. From January 14 to February 11 we will be looking at “Storm Stories” in the Bible during worship. How did people respond? Where was God during it all? Join us for these relevant messages as we learn from the “Storm Stories” of God’s people!
End of year contributions must be received by WUMC on December 31st, 2017. If a contribution is mailed, the postmark serves as the donation date.
If you requested giving envelopes for 2018, they are located in the Narthex. If you do not see your name and would like envelopes, please put your name on the list. The envelopes will be available for pick up prior to the beginning of the new year. If you have any questions, call Brenda at 634-4800.
